Oct 18 – Hike Daily Ranch

HIKE AT DALEY RANCH, ESCONDIDO

MEET IN PARKING LOT, NORTH END OF LaHONDA DR.

Join us for a nice afternoon hike into the popular Daley Ranch trails. We will walk the higher trails up near the water tower area and back. No Ranch House visit this time. The route is about 4 mile loop trail with some up and down slopes with an easy to moderate effort taking about 2.5 hours. Leashed dogs are ok in park. Porta-potties are available at the parking lot. If muddy trails from rain we will stay on the road path out and back as needed.

Rain on that day will cancel, otherwise we can walk it.

Meet: At the main Daley Ranch parking lot trailhead area by 3:30 PM (directions below) by the kiosk.

What to bring:  Good footwear for sandy dirt trails -shoes are ok — wear appropriate clothing for the weather, sunscreen, hat. Bring a water bottle and pocket snack.

Directions:  Daley Ranch parking lot is at the north end of La Honda Dr, from El Norte Rd.

From I-15, exit El Norte Parkway, head east approximately 3.3 miles (~.4 mile past Midway Rd.).  Then, look for La Honda Dr. to the left (North) with a big sign -“Lake Dixon” entrance.  Follow La Honda up the steep hill (1.3 miles) to the Daley Ranch lot free parking area. Meet us there by the trailhead sign.

If this lot is full then parking in a certain Lake Dixon spot is free for 60+ or else $5. I’ll direct you at that time if needed.
