Meet at Trail Head along Tamarack Ave.

Join us for a hike at the Calavera Lake trails going out to the water tower area behind the volcano hill.

The hike is easy to moderate mostly on sandy trails and length of about 4 miles round trip.

Wear good shoes or boots, dress in layers for the days weather.

Dogs on leash ok. No portopottie available.

In case of rains that week, the sandy/gravel trails aren’t bad.

Directions: 1) Exit Hwy 78 onto Emerald Dr. southbound. In ~1/4 mi turn right, south, onto Sky Haven Lane. Follow southwards, crossing Lake Blvd, to the end where trail head parking is along the street.

2) From College Blvd, ~1/4 mi south of Hwy 78, take Lake Blvd eastwards. Go 0.8 mi east on Lake Blvd to stop light of Sky Haven lane and right, south, to the end where trail head parking is along the street.

3) From South Melrose turn onto Cannon Rd westbound, then right onto Lake Blvd. Follow it 1.6 mile to Sky Haven stop light, then left, south, and follow to the end.
