SUMMARY:July 25 – San Dieguito Lagoon Walk
DESCRIPTION:San Dieguito Lagoon walk,  9:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2026\nMeet at Trailhead at the southern end of San Andres Dr., Del Mar. \nNear 15748 San Andres Dr., past Wells Fargo Bank.  Park along the road.\nGPS: 32.97842, -117.24745 (enter like an address in your map app)\nCome along for a morning lagoon walkabout. We start near the horse stables area in Del Mar and end up at the coast by “South Dog Beach,” and enjoy the ocean and bay view or you can go for a short swim or wading time. If you go for a dip, then wear or bring clothes/shoes/towel and clean wash-off water in a pack. This trail is the beginning part of the Coast to Crest trail. A nice flat walking trail. Several info placards to read, an Osprey nest, Cliff Swallow nests, water birds, and a lagoon boardwalk. We walk to the coast on the south side of the Del Mar Dog & Volleyball Beach Area then same way back.  The total walk is 4.25 miles in 2-3 hours at an easy pace with stops. Porta-potties are at the Volleyball beach area.  Dogs on leash with drinking water are ok, dogs must stay on leash at the beach during the summer time, and clean up any mess.!\nDress for the weather and full sun; sun block, hat, water bottle, water shoes or towel for wading/swimming.\nDirections: From Hwy 5, exit at Via De La Valle heading eastwards. Go past the shopping center, which is on the south side of Via De La Valle. Look for San Andres Dr. at stop lights by Wells Fargo Bank. Go right, south, to the end and park anywhere along that road. Trailhead is at the end of road.\nFrom Escondido area; Take the Del Dios Rd hwy. Go left at the Via De La Valle intersection and follow all the way down. Just past the horse park, then look for the 1st stop light at San Andres Dr., by the Wells Fargo Bank, turn left, south, and go to the end and park anywhere along road.
