DESCRIPTION:Walk Lake Hodges Shoreline to Boat Launch\n9:30 am, Saturday, March 21 2026\nFrom Hernandez Hideaway Restaurant\nGPS: 33.06288, -117.11995\nCome out for a nice and easy walk along Lake Hodges starting at Hernandez Hideaway Restaurant in the township of Del Dios, down to the boat launch and back. This path is a part of the Coast To Crest Trail. Total round trip is 5.25 miles, out and back, for 2.5-3 hours. But you don’t have to go the whole length, just out as far as you like and turn back. A nice, flat, no hills, sandy dirt trail with trees half of the way all in view of the lake.\nDogs are ok to bring. Portapotties are around and the restaurant is nice to let some use their bathroom too. Park in the lot or along roads in the area.\nDirections: Oceanside and Escondido: Take Hwy 78 to Hwy 15 South. Quickly exit onto Valley Center Parkway westwards (right). Follow all the way west, which becomes Del Dios Hwy after it passes Via Rancho Pkwy intersection coming from Hwy 15.   In the lake area, look for the stop light intersection Rancho Dr., turn left, towards the lake. Follow Rancho Dr. to parking lot by Hernandez restaurant.\nFrom the middle coastal areas: Find your best way onto Del Dios Hwy either through San Elijo via Harmony Grove Road or through Rancho Santa Fe area.
