DESCRIPTION:Hike, Calavera Lake, Eastern Trails, Carlsbad\nSunday Afternoon, April 27 2025, at 3:30 PM\nTrailhead by 3705 Sky Haven Ln\nGPS: 33.17375, -117.28130\nMeet at Trail Head along Sky Haven Lane, (NOT by the dam). \n Join us for a hike around the eastern Calavera trails by way of Oak Riparian Park woods trail, then the creek boardwalk, then south into the grasslands. We will skip the Volcano area. The hike trails are easy to moderate with some minor hills. Length is around 4.5 miles in 2 hours. Shorter walk is doable to take a cut off back to cars. That would be a 2.0 mile walk with the board walk trail.\nWear shoes that can get dusty, dress for weather, and hat. Dogs on leash are OK. No bathrooms.\nDirections: 1) Exit Hwy 78 onto Emerald Dr. southbound. In ~1/4 mi turn right, south, onto Sky Haven Lane. Follow southwards, crossing Lake Blvd, to the end where trail head parking is along the street.\n2) From College Blvd, ~1/4 mi south of Hwy 78, take Lake Blvd eastwards. Go 0.8 mi east on Lake Blvd to stop light of Sky Haven lane and right, south, to the end where trail head parking is  along the street.\n3) From South Melrose turn onto Cannon Rd westbound, then right onto Lake Blvd. Follow it 1.6 mile to Sky Haven stop light, then left, south, and follow to end.\nInfo contact: text/call Vinnie R. 858-231-7722.   \n
