DESCRIPTION:Hike Lake Dixon (Next to Daley Ranch) Escondido\n3:30 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2024\nGPS: 33.16650, -117.05238 \nJoin us for a nice afternoon hike at Lake Dixon trails, next to Daley Ranch in Escondido. .\nThis popular lake has trails that go around most of it. The route is about 3 mile loop trail with some ups and down slopes with an easy to moderate effort taking about 2 hours. Much of the hike is along the lake shoreline. Leashed dogs are ok in park. Porto potties are available.\nMeet: At the main Daley Ranch parking lot trailhead area by 3:30 PM (directions below)\nWhat to bring:  Good footwear for sandy dirt trails – shoes are ok — wear appropriate clothing for the weather, sunscreen, hat. Bring a water bottle and pocket snack.\nDirections:  Daley Ranch parking lot is at the north end of La Honda Dr. from El Norte Rd.\nFrom I-15, exit El Norte Parkway, head east approximately 3.3 miles (~.4 mile past Midway Rd.).  Then, look for La Honda Dr. to the left (North) with a big sign -“Lake Dixon” entrance.  Follow La Honda up the steep hill (1.3 miles) to the Daley Ranch lot free parking area. Meet us there by the trailhead sign.\nIf this lot is full then parking in a certain Lake Dixon spot is free for 60+ or else $5.
