DESCRIPTION:Hike, San Dieguito River Park-Santa Fe Valley, Rancho Santa Fe.\n(part of the Coast to Crest trail)\n9:30 AM, Saturday, January 27 2024\nEntrance next to Paradise Produce Market\nat 8173 Del Dios Rd., Rancho Santa Fe\nGPS: 33.04116, -117.15752\n(Enter GPS numbers as an address in phone map)\nJoin us for a hike in a portion of the Coast to Crest Trail starting at the San Dieguito River Park and head downstream, west, along the Santa Fe Valley trail and back. This trail runs near by the river basin then up switchbacks and over a plateau then down near the Rancho Santa Fe private park bridge. A couple of placards along the trail tell about the plants, birds, and early native inhabitants.\nThe full length walk would be 5 mile, 3 hour, out and back, but you need not go that far by turning around and heading back. Trail is easy to follow if you want to head back early. Easy walking out and back, good trail, with a couple of short hills of switchbacks. Dogs on leashes with water are okay. One portopotty is in the parking lot of Paradise Market. Bring a water bottle and pocket snack. Dress for either cool or warm weather in layers.\nParking area entrance is next to Paradise Produce Market tent, right side. Go through gate, follow down to trailhead parking.\nDirections from Vista NCC area: Take S. Melrose down onto S.Rancho Santa Fe to intersection of El Camino Del Norte. Follow ECDN to Del Dios Rd, then left, east, to the Paradise Produce market tent on the rightside.\nOr, El Camino Real south to Olivehain Rd east then Rancho Santa Fe southwards to El Camino Del Norte eastwards to Del Dios Rd. east.\nOr, Hwy 5 to exit Leucadia Blvd and go east. Cross El Camino Real it becomes Olivenhain Rd. Follow to intersection with Rancho Santa Fe, go right, south on RSF to El Camino Del Norte, left, east. Follow to Del Dios Rd then left, east, to the market tent.\nFaster directions from Vista/San Marcos/Escondido area: Take hwy 78 towards Escondido, onto Hwy 15 south.  Exit onto W. Valley Pkwy, westwards, which will become Del Dios Rd. (Hwy). From there its 5.2 miles to Paradise Produce on left side.\nFrom southern area hwy 15 northbound: Exit hwy 15 north at Via Rancho Parkway and go west. Follow to Del Dios intersection then left, west, to Paradise Market tent.\nFrom southern area hwy 5 northbound: Exit hwy 5 northbound at Via De La Valle going eastwards.
